January Event

Bolton Whites welcomed us back to the Wanderers Suite and we were looked after very well.

Dr Pam Coates of Waterside Dental Care presented a highly informative and interesting seminar on the importance healthy gums and teeth and showed us the latest in dentistry techniques.

Laura Thompson National Business Development Manager at Bolton Whites share their exciting plans for the future of the venue and we wish them well.

As well as some excellent speakers, we enjoyed some enthusiastic and effective networking, cards were swapped and 121s arranged.

Our next event is on 26th February at Bury�s Red Hall and we shall look forward to that.

September Event

Richard Burns and the team welcomed us back to the Red Hall in Bury on a beautiful Autumn day.

Nick Brookes of Growth Accelerator and Ged Hull of Cornfields Business Advisors facilitated a thought provoking and practical introduction to Creating Sustainable Growth Through Business Planning, just one of the many tools available with GrowthAccelerator.

Our usual energetic and lively free range networking over refreshments was followed by a hearty two course lunch.

Pete Slater of Silk Group took our after lunch speaker slot and demonstrated the power and importance of branding.

Our next event is on 23 October when we will be back at historic Bolton School. 

July Event 2014

The team at BSS Wedding & Events at Bolton School welcomed us for our first visit to the prestigious and historic Bolton School.

Sara Beaumont of Woodcocks Haworth & Nuttall Solicitors led a highly informative and practical seminar on Effective Debt Recovery, specifically how to avoid bad debts and maximise recovery.

We then had our usual vibrant free range networking prior to an excellent two course lunch.

The Head of Marketing at Bolton School, John Newbould gave us a fascinating insight into the history of Bolton School, its outstanding educational reputation and how it contributes to the local economy.

Our next event is a Summer Special – a joint event with Central & East Lancashire at Stanley House on the 7th August and we look forward to that.

June Event 2014

We had a wonderful view of the pitch at the newly name Macron Stadium at Bolton Whites today in the beautiful Reflections Suite.

Lynne Cramb of DTE Payroll and Tax Centre presented an excellent morning seminar dispelling the myths of Auto Enrolment and offering sound advice to our members and guests.

We then enjoyed some vibrant free range networking where contacts were made and 121s scheduled.  A mouth-watering lunch by Heathcotes followed our table presentations and as well our normal business conversations, the World Cup and England’s all import match was discussed at length.

Dr Pam Coates of Waterside Dental Care gave a fascinating talk about her new service of Thermal Imaging which can detect precancerous changes 8 years earlier than mammography. It will also highlight problems in the bowel, muscles or joints.

We are looking forward to our next event at Bolton School on the 16th July, where we already have 2 new members to introduce to the group.

May Event

Richard Burns and the team at the Red Hall welcomed us back for our May event. The sun shone, the flowers were in bloom and our members and guests had a definite spring in their step.

Deb Gilby of GW Resources, presented a thought provoking and fascinating seminar Resourceful and Resilient How to Use Your Energy To Achieve Success’, the participants learning new skills and techniques to apply in everyday situations.

Nick Brookes of GrowthAccelerator shared some real insights into how the initiative can help different types of companies depending on their requirements. We are sure that it will help several of our members and their contacts too.

Lots of opportunities, relationships strengthened and new contacts made - a smashing event.

December Event

Macdonald Egerton House decorated in splendid seasonal decorations was the venue for our Sparkly Business Network Event.

Over 50 enthusiastic members and guests joined in the fun by wearing something sparkly for the event and through generous Member donations we raised almost £400 for our Charity members, Bolton Lads & Girls Club, Three Wishes and Bury Hospice. The entertainment was provided by the outstanding Clearwater Music led by Alex Danson, simply stunning.

November Event

The Macdonald Egerton House gave us a warm welcome on a frosty November day. After a seminar to explore how to get the best from networking and enjoy the benefits of being a valued member of our group, we put our honed skills into action with some vibr

June Event 2013

The Last Drop Hotel & Spa welcome us back for our June event in the lovely Firwood Suite.

Jean Atkinson shared her considerable expertise with a ’10 Step Marketing Plan’ presentation. James Arthur of Bury Hospice took the after lunch speaker slot to tell us about the new state of the art, award nominated Hospice. Lots of great networking took place, with business relationships started and built upon. Looking forward to our July event at De Vere Whites on Tuesday 16th July.

First Anniverysary March 2013

A wonderful First Anniversary event at Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa. Heather Green and the team looked after us so well especially the fantastic cakes and pyrotechnics!

Sue Tonks of Utility Warehouse provided an enjoyable, motivational and entertaining seminar and Stephen Singer of Infralogics shared tips on 'Beautiful Procedures' in his after lunch talk.

Our next event is on 23rd April at the Macdonald Egerton House Hotel.  Simon Halliday of Business Doctors will help us to step back and think about our businesses differently in our pre lunch seminar  'The Antidote to the Dragons Den'

February Event 2013

January 2013 Event

A great day at the Red Hall who welcomed us back for our first event of the New Year.

Stephen Singer of Infralogics and Ally Lawson from Virtue Technologies gave an enlightening and thought-provoking seminar and Karen Baron of Stephensons Solicitors provided an interesting after lunch speech.

Karen will be presenting our seminar at our next event on Tuesday 26th February.  'Carry On Driving' will show us how legislation including the new proposed 'drugs' driving legislation will affect you not only as a driver but also as an employer.  Book early!

'Sparkly' Christmas Event 2012

An absolutely wonderful Christmas event at the Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa with John Hotowka of Wit and Wisdom providing a brilliant after lunch session.

Sue Tonks from Utility Warehouse provided us with an enlightening and entertaining after lunch talk.

Our December event is our 'Sparkly' Christmas event on Tuesday 18th December at the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa.  It will be a fabulous event and to whet your appetite for the Christmas Season we have some great entertainment lined up for you. Please bring £10 if you would like to enter our prize draw and wear something sparkly no matter how small or discreet - otherwise a £1 fine to our charity pot!

We also we aim to raise funds to support our Member Charities -  Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Three Wishes and Derrian House.  If you feel like you want to support our effort by offering a prize for the draw please do let me know.

The Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa was the venue for our July event where they looked after us in their usual style.

Robyn Robertson of Robertson Fox gave a thought provoking and compelling pre lunch seminar - '9 Critical Factors for Self-Inspiration'.  

After lunch Diane Pilling of Affordable Accounts reminded us of the importance of management accounts and flexible working in an engaging and enjoyable manner.

We had a spectalular start to The Bolton & Bury Group when over 105 people attended a very lively inaugural event.

Will Kintish to Present at the Launch of The Business Network Bolton & Bury Networking guru Will Kintish is to offer a free pre-lunch networking workshop at the Business Network Bolton & Bury launch event in March.

Taking place on Wednesday 14th March at The Last Drop Hotel & Spa, the event is the first in Bolton & Bury of the successful and long-running Business Network format that came to the UK in 1993. Helen Bennett, head of The Business Network in England, said that she is delighted that long-standing Network member and Host of Preston, Pennine Lancashire and South Manchester is to run this new group. 

"There is no doubt that the most successful Business Networks are those run by Hosts who are genuinely interested in supporting local businesses", Helen commented. "And I am confident that Karen will do a great job in providing a vibrant business environment
